Tell us a little about yourself
We are Carmen and Woody Bell and we live in Makakilo. We recently moved back to Hawaii after Woody retired from the Air Force earlier this year and are now in our forever home. In our free time, we enjoy traveling, spending time with our family, taking our dogs exploring across Oahu, and finding good places to eat.
How and when did you start volunteering with Accessurf.
We started with AccesSurf back in 2015 when we saw a DATB on a random Saturday. We loved the community and the mission and started volunteering with the organization and haven’t looked back!
What does AccesSurf mean to you?
AccesSurf means the world to us. We feel it is very important to give back to the community and make it a better place. AccesSurf allows us to do that with the events they sponsor and the people they help.
Favorite AccesSurf memory?
All of the smiles that we see every month. The joy that AccesSurfs brings to people who wouldn’t have an opportunity to enjoy the ocean is truly life changing. It means the world to us that we can help bring that king of happiness into the world.
Anything you want our community to know?
Thank you so much to all of the amazing volunteers that make AccesSurf happen. Without all of the hard work from the staff and the volunteers, none of this would be possible and we just want to thank the community for all of the amazing work they do.
