Diversity, equity and inclusion are the core of AccesSurf’s values. AccesSurf mission is to build an inclusive community that empowers people with disabilities through accessible beach and water programs. Since the foundation in 2006, we use a community-participatory approach committed to providing opportunities for all people, adapting equipment/ technology and other elements to each person’s ability to equally participate.
To do so we include people from multiple ethnic backgrounds, people of all abilities, all ages and all genders and gender identities. AccesSurf makes a conscious effort to ensure that our Board, Leadership, Staff and Volunteer teams include representation of the community we serve, which is inclusive of people with different abilities, their families, and a range of people from all financial, professional and ethnic backgrounds, as well as all ages, genders and gender identities.
