There are so many moving parts that makes our programs possible, some that go unnoticed. Melissa is a SAINT and takes all our wet equipment such as life vests and booties, and ensures they are clean and dry for the next programs! She sacrifices her garage and yard space for our equipment and we could not be more grateful. On top of this, she is incredibly dedicated to not only our programs but our fundraisers and outreach events all year long.

Mahalo Melissa Miller for your many years of dedication to AccesSurf and our community!

Here’s more from Melissa:

I started volunteering with ASH in 2014 after hearing on the news that their van was broken into. ASH combined two passions of mine; the ocean and helping people. As an ER nurse it’s so wonderful to see people with challenges outside of the hospital environment. ASH means ohana to me. I have met many amazing people through this organization.
My favorite memory with ASH was in 2015. Some of the volunteers joined the Hawai’i Adaptive Surf Team in San Diego for the first ISA Adaptive Surf Championship. Meeting adaptive athletes from around the world was an incredible experience.
