Monthly Adaptive Surfing, Shoreline Flotation and Swimming for any person with a disability on the first Saturday of each month at Kalaeloa, Barbers Point Beach Park. From 9am to 1pm for participants.

Volunteers will meet at 8:00am with orientation at 8:30pm.

AccesSurf will be hosting a training session on the last Wednesday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. at Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific, is mandatory prior to volunteering with AccesSurf to maintain the highest level of quality and safety in our programs.

Visitor Enters the Ocean for the First Time with AccesSurf

On January 24, AccesSurf had the privilege of helping Troy, a visitor to Hawai‘i, get into the ocean for the first time in his life. Following Troy’s morning of swimming in the ocean off Waikīkī Beach, his friend sent this email:

“We just got back to the Hotel room and Troy is so jacked! He had an absolute blast with Mark! Thank you so much for helping Troy get into the ocean, it is absolutely incredible what you guys at AccesSurf are doing and it was truly a life experience that will never be forgotten.”

Surfers with Challenges Expression Session
January 13-14, 2012

Surfers with Challenges are joining with AccesSurf Hawaii, Infinity Surfboards from the USA, along with Jesse Hinson from Noosa for an exciting adaptive surfing session at the Duke’s Day event at Freshwater Beach, Australia. AccesSurf’s “One Ocean” program will share new adaptive surfboards, equipment and the best practices with all to promote safe ocean access.

Former US Senator Max Cleland enjoys the ocean in Hawaii with AccesSurf

Former US Senator, Max Cleland was able to enjoy one of the top ten beaches in the world while visiting Hawaii with the help of AccesSurf.

Utilizing the right equipment with trained professionals, Senator Cleland was able to enjoy a stress free afternoon in the sun and the ocean. It was truly an honor and pleasure to assist Senator Cleland and we look forward to his return trip to Oahu for many more ocean memories.
